Meat is back on the menu
I am not actually sure how old I was when I was first introduced to home butchering but I was about 8 years old when I first butchered a chicken while helping my mom and her friend (who was teaching us). I grew up learning how to butcher from my Uncles and helping and eventually taking over butchering and now am teaching others the life skills of butchering and meat processing.
I have been able to introduce people to butchering farm animals of all sizes and have enjoyed learning new skills that I get to pass on. I do charge a fee now partially because I am making a business out of training but also because it can get expensive to travel to different sites where people can gather in groups to learn and I am able to reach more people at a lower cost to them if I am the one traveling as opposed to them and their friends.
